Vincent Kartheiser Is Scarecrow in Titans Season 3 on HBO Max

It’s official, Scarecrow is heading to Titans. In the upcoming third season of the HBO Max series, Vincent Kartheiser (Mad men) will play Jonathan Crane, the demented doctor also known as the supervillain Scarecrow. As he is typically portrayed in DC stories, Titans‘Dr. Crane is an inmate at Arkham Asylum who’s known for terrorizing Gotham City with a fear-inducing toxin.

News of Kartheiser’s casting follows previous announcements of other characters coming into the show’s third season. In January, it was reported that Savannah Welch (Six) will play Barbara Gordon, aka the former Batgirl. Soon after, it was revealed that Jay Lycurgo (The batman) will also be starring in a recurring role as Tim Drake, the streetwise kid who ends up becoming Robin in the original comic books.

“Now we have Nightwing and Barbara Gordon trying to deal with the mistakes of their parents and it’s turning out to be a lot more difficult than anybody else bought,” executive producer and writer Walker said of the upcoming third season at DC FanDome in August.

With Lycurgo’s introduction teasing the arrival of the third Robin, Walker also teased what was next for Robin No. 2 (Curran Walters) by stating: “A child that is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth. That child you come back in the form of Red Hood. “

Kartheiser is known for playing Pete Campbell on the AMC drama series Mad men. Some of his more recent credits include The Path, Saints & Sinners, Das Boot, and The OA. He was also featured in the Netflix movie The Most Hated Woman in America alongside Melissa Leo and Adam Scott.

One of Batman’s most well-known foes, Scarecrow has been appearing in DC Comics for decades. He is played by Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan’s Dark knight trilogy, appearing in all three installments of the movie series. On the small screen, he appeared in the prequel series Gotham with Charlie Tahan and David W. Thompson sharing the role. The character has been referenced in shows like Batwoman and Supergirl but has yet to physically appear in the Arrowverse.

Developed by Greg Berlanti, Akiva Goldsman, and Geoff Johns, Titans originally premiered on DC Universe. The three also serve as executive producers along with Greg Walker and Sarah Schechter. Goldsman’s Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions produced in association with Warner Bros. Television. After shooting two seasons, the series moved to HBO Max where it will debut season 3.

Following a team of young superheroes banding together to stop evil forces, Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, aka Robin, aka Nightwing; Anna Diop as Koriand’r, aka Kory Anders; Teagan Croft as Rachel Roth; Ryan Potter as Gar Logan; Curran Walters as Jason Todd, aka Robin, aka Red Hood; Conor Leslie as Donna Troy, aka Wonder girl; Minka Kelly as Dawn Granger, aka Dove; Alan Ritchson as Hank Hall, aka Hawk; Esai Morales as Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke; and Joshua Orpin as Subject 13, a genetic clone of Superman and Lex Luthor.

Titanswill be premiering season 3 on July 15, 2021, on HBO Max. In the meantime, fans can watch the first two seasons on HBO Max. This news comes to us from Variety.
